When a design engineer has fully defined a linear-motion application’s requirements regarding travel length, speed, force, and accuracy as well as repeatability, the next question to answer is this:
Does an off-the-shelf linear slide (or a stock linear slide from a catalog) fully satisfy the application?
Off-the-shelf linear slides are advantageous for their quick delivery and lower cost than that of custom components. No wonder most linear-motion designs do in fact employ off-the-shelf linear slides from various component and system suppliers.

This new X-Axis BE125-10 Open Screw Drive System sets new standards for: Length of travel, speed, and precision for Cartesian Robots (robots that move in X,Y and Z axes according to Cartesian Coordinates also know as rectangular coordinates) and single axis linear stages!

The Transporter 2 Roller Block and Rail system from LM76 is just that…practical. A black anodized aluminum carriage plate which features 4 plastic wheels pressed over ABEC 1 roller bearings. Transporter’s rail features a ceramic coated aluminum extrusion which offers a hard, extremely durable running surface. Transporter 2 offers 2 carriage plate designs: Option 1 is a standard block with 4) 10-32 mounting holes. Option 2 is a longer and more narrow block with 4) 10-32 mounting holes and a hand lock assembly. This low friction, maintenance free system is superb for sliding doors, manual assembly lines, camera motion and any other applications where low friction motion is required. Transporter is not for high loads or moment loading or for applications which require high speed, critical accuracy or wash down.

(1349 lbs). These wide, low profile linear motion systems feature: Low noise, smooth travel, high speed to 10 m/s (120 ft/s), high acceleration to 50 m/s (150 ft/s), low weight, high linear accuracy, sealed radial low friction bearings, low cost, and because of their wide profile they have high moment (Roll, Pitch, and Yaw) load capacities. Additionally they are easy to install, in any orientation, into new and existing applications. SB-LGC maintenance free linear motion systems have sealed for life rollers, RC60 hardened shafts, and are available in lengths to 6000 mm (263 in.)
